DIRECTOR MESSAGE
Greetings! I would like to express my gratitude to all participants who have participated in the International Invention and Innovative Competition (InIIC), Series 2/2020. This is the second virtual version of InIIC. When the Malaysia government imposed the recovery Conditional Movement Control Order (MCO) due to a dropped in Covid-19 daily cases, there were requests from participants to organise the competition in the conventional way, just like we did previously. However, it was a hard decision to make, as the pandemic is unpredictable. Thus, we decided to continue with the virtual InIIC to minimise the risks. It was barely four months since the businesses reopened before the third wave hits Malaysia. Again, schools and higher institutions have been closed and Online Distance Learning (ODL) has been fully implemented. However, despite the closures and challenges, I am amazed with young and adult innovators who put efforts and have strong determination to submit the materials by the deadlines, while staying at home. You have just proved that you are the real innovators, who always find solutions to problems, by ‘Changing Lives in a Brilliant Ways’. We received almost 130 registrations from several countries. There were 109 groups from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the UAE and the USA that confirmed the participation. Each project was evaluated by two expert juries from their fields. 50 marks are allocated for the innovation, while 14 and 16 marks are for other aspects (intellectual property, award, etc) and presentation (video and poster) respectively. All 40 juries were very committed judging the projects to ensure the results released as scheduled. Congratulations to all the winners! Wishing you more success in the future. We look forward to serving you again. Stay safe, stay at home. “Changing Lives in Brilliant Ways” Best Regards, Nadzri Salleh |
